When we purchased our RV, it came with tank sensors and a control panel showing how much was in each tank. I liked the idea. After just a couple of trips, though, I realized the readings were no longer reliable. I would empty the tanks at the end of a trip, but the indicators would…
It was a beautiful fall day here in Minnesota today, but also a sad one. We did some fall maintenance and winterized our RV for the season. Due to an unexpected illness, we had to cancel our final camping trip of 2026 last week. I’m feeling better now, but with frost warnings showing up in…
Vehicle recalls, especially RV recalls, can sometimes be difficult to keep track of. If you bought your RV from a dealer, you should receive recall notifications. But if you bought it used, particularly through a private sale, those notifications may not always find their way to you. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has…
When we purchased our RV in 2020, we also purchased an extended warranty through Good Sam. Thankfully, we never needed to use it, and the warranty expired last year. My wife, Pat, and I volunteer and help raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. One of the fundraisers Pat participates in each fall involves selling mums. Another CF fundraiser is able to purchase them wholesale and resell them, with the profits going to support the fight against cystic fibrosis. The only catch for us…
Bug removal. Whether it’s a car or an RV, it is one of the toughest jobs when it comes to keeping your vehicle looking good. Any RV owner, no matter what class of RV they have, has a large area to keep clean and free of bugs. Our fifth wheel is no exception. There is…
Whether you’re pulling into a campground or getting ready to hit the road, having a routine can prevent mistakes and make the process a lot less stressful. Setting up and packing up an RV involves dozens of little tasks, and forgetting just one can result in anything from a minor inconvenience to expensive damage. Over…
