When we purchased our RV, it came with tank sensors and a control panel showing how much was in each tank. I liked the idea. After just a couple of trips, though, I realized the readings were no longer reliable. I would empty the tanks at the end of a trip, but the indicators would…
Vehicle recalls, especially RV recalls, can sometimes be difficult to keep track of. If you bought your RV from a dealer, you should receive recall notifications. But if you bought it used, particularly through a private sale, those notifications may not always find their way to you. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has…
Internet access has become almost as important to many RVers as water and electricity. We use it for trip planning, weather, entertainment, keeping in touch with family and, for those still working from the road, sometimes earning a living. There are more options for staying connected than there used to be. Starlink has become common…
When we purchased our RV in 2020, we also purchased an extended warranty through Good Sam. Thankfully, we never needed to use it, and the warranty expired last year. When it was getting ready to expire, I remember being inundated with offers to purchase another extended warranty. I looked into it at the time, but…
There are certain things in life that you don’t really think about until someone changes them. Toilet paper is one of those things. In my last post, I talked about developing a routine for setting up and tearing down your RV. I also suggested that if you like using a checklist, you don’t necessarily need to pay for an app. You can create your own checklist in the Notes app on your phone and customize it specifically for…
If you own an RV long enough, eventually you’re probably going to wonder what it’s worth. Maybe you’re thinking about selling it, trading it for something different, or you’re simply curious about how much value it has lost since you bought it. That’s something we’ve been wondering about our 2020 Keystone Cougar 366RDS fifth wheel….
There is a new app, or at least one that is new to me, that I have been seeing advertised quite heavily on RV social media sites. It’s called CampRoute, an AI-assisted trip planner designed specifically for RV travelers. I’m always looking at new RV apps, hoping to eventually find the perfect one. There are…
In my previous article on RVing with a disability, I mentioned that my wife’s recent knee replacement got me thinking about accessibility and RVing. Her situation is expected to be temporary, and we certainly don’t need a specially designed accessible RV. What we may need, however, are a few things that make the RV we…
