I’m Trying

Just Some Thoughts

I usually write about RVing, camping, and the adventures Pat and I have along the way.

Today’s post is a little different.

A former coworker recently shared a couple of quotes on Facebook that really made me stop and think. I don’t know who the original authors are, but they struck a chord with me, so I wanted to share them.

I’m Trying

Author Unknown

I’m trying to be happy.
I’m trying to get better.
I’m trying to stay focused.
I’m trying not to get upset.
I’m trying not to overreact.
I’m trying not to overthink.
All I can do is try.
No one is perfect.
Don’t expect me to be, but I’m trying.

I think most of us can relate to those words.

We all have challenges that others know nothing about. Some days are easier than others, and sometimes simply doing our best has to be enough.

The older I get, the more I realize that everyone is carrying something. A little patience, kindness, and understanding can go a long way.

The second quote made me think just as much.

A Change in Attitude

Author Unknown

People will notice a change in your attitude toward them, but won’t notice the behavior that made you change.

When I first read that, I immediately thought about relationships with friends and family.

It’s easy to notice when someone’s attitude changes toward us.

What’s harder is asking ourselves why.

Sometimes the change is the result of something they misunderstood.

Sometimes it’s something we did—or failed to do.

Before assuming someone has changed for no reason, it might be worth taking a step back and asking whether our own words or actions played a part.

None of us are perfect.

We’re all learning as we go.

One Last Thought

Life isn’t just about the miles we travel or the places we visit.

It’s also about the relationships we build along the way.

Sometimes the best journey we can take is looking honestly at ourselves, giving others a little grace, and remembering that nearly everyone is simply doing the best they can.
