Don’t Be This Guy III

While browsing one of the RV groups I follow, I came across another photo that made me stop and shake my head.

It showed an RV sewer hose draped across the campground picnic table.

I honestly hope they weren’t planning to use that same table for lunch.

This isn’t just about campground etiquette. It’s about basic hygiene and consideration for the next camper who uses that site.

Even if the sewer hose appears clean, it has no business being anywhere near a surface where people prepare or eat food. Picnic tables are meant for meals, games, and family gatherings, not as a place to store or support sewer equipment.

Seeing photos like this reminds me why Pat and I always wipe down every campground picnic table before we use it. We also cover it with a tablecloth before setting out any food.

It only takes a few minutes, and it gives us peace of mind.

Camping is a shared experience. Every one of us has a responsibility to leave our campsite in better condition than we found it. A little common sense and a little courtesy go a long way toward making the campground a better place for everyone.

Please don’t be this person.
